Major helped produce the song "Pony" which became a major hit and a milestone in both Major's and Timbaland's careers. He later became a member of the Def Jam group Playa, who were most known for their hit single "Cheers 2 U". Playa released an album of the same name in 1997. After working with Ginuwine, Static assisted in producing songs for Nicole Wray for her 1998 debut album, Make It Hot. Static Major would eventually become the lead songwriter for the late R&B singer Aaliyah.

Talk about Playa - Cheers 2 U

Thorgaginn
Brilliant R&B album, all around great as far as the group's vocals and delivery goes. Good mix of party jams and slow jams, with the group's own member Static doing most of the production when Timbaland isn't behind the boards. Of course Tim's joints are some of the best on here, like the lead singles "Don't Stop the Music" and the title track, the Missy Elliott collaboration "Ms. Parker", and of course "I'll B 2 C U" which interpolates Donna Summer and is quite heartfelt. Whether you're a fan of Timbaland's protégées or simply enjoy R&B or good music in general, "Cheers 2 U" is an underrated classic I highly recommend checking out.
