Renaissance of the Celtic. has been added to your Cart. Unlike most of Alan Stivell's albums, this is entirely instrumental except for one song which uses some wordless choral vocalization. I enjoy Stivell's strong Gaelic vocals on his other music, but as a beginning harp player myself I particularly enjoy listening here to one of the world's great traditional harpers playing his harp. This album arguably sounds more "Celtic" than his other albums, because on his other work he sometimes sings in French and even his Breton Gaelic has a French flavor to it, different from the accents heard in Scotland and Ireland.
People who hear this record are never the same again. Renaissance of the Celtic Harp, one of the most beautiful and haunting records ever made, introduced the Celtic harp to many thousands of listeners around the world.
Renaissance de la Harpe Celtique or Renaissance of the Celtic Harp is a 1972 record album by the Breton master. By the time of his second album, in one year, the number of harps sold in France had reached into the thousands.
