Lights Out is the sixth studio album by the British rock band UFO, released in May and also on 11 October 1977 (see 1977 in music). All songs are band originals except for "Alone Again Or" which is a cover of a song by the band Love. Reaching on the Billboard Hot 100, it remains the band's highest charting album in the United States. The album was UFO's first to feature lush string arrangements alongside more complex song structures than their previous albums.

riferendosi a Lights Out Chicago, LP, CLO 0388. this is yet another great UFO release from the cleopatra label in the us, the only sad thing is THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DOUBLE LP SET!!!! this is part of a radio show recorded in chicago in march 1980 on the no place to run tour. i have had the whole show as a boot for 35 years and the whole show. was released on cd on the live sightings box set cleopatra released last year, anyway this is still ultra cool for the chapman era ufo fan, this comes with a great live sleeve reflecting this early 80s ufo era and was pressed on beautiful marble yellow.

Despite a few generic moments, Lights Out is probably the best studio document of what elevated UFO above the '70s hard rock fray. Within a Euro-blues framework, the classic lineup that lasted from Phenomenon through Strangers in the Night incorporated challenging dynamics, epic balladry, and a more than occasional sensitivity. On Lights Out, all three of these traits come together in powerful fashion, most notably on the space rocker-cum-ballad "Love to Love," where a ridiculously heavy intro gives way to flourishing poetics

On my edition (yellow vinyl) they also reverse No Place to Run and Cherry. Only "Only You Can Rock Me" is listed correctly on Side 1. Good tracks overall - definitely "bootleg" quality.

Elo good morn bgdigel69 Oh my - ... can this get even """worser""" just yet !!!!!???? - why the hell can anybody so shamelessly (let's say try) profiting off an unofficial recording without the least bit of carefulness/faithfulness an'/or adequacy/decency/accuracy take care of those f"""in ""oursoul""-"mistykes" and check the pressing plate before releasing it and make such a cool recording a total f***ed-up disaster-mess in order to just make profit? Is this how low(est) sumbdy can get nowadayz if he's really dyin or at least try-dyin to suck money out of bands and vinyl-collectors alike??? PS: I guess discox is gonna shut me up and ban me sooner or later 4 posting such negative and angry spitz... uhm - well then, be me guest... PPS: Do those people over at Cleopatra or any of those other """fancy""" labels ever care to come forward and read, nonetheless take care of, any customer feedback or customer ((inquiry-related)) mail???? Bes'regards - Angry young n old "them"...

Great recording. Although, on the vinyl pressing trax one and two have been inverted. Bad mistake. So now the LP starts off with "Young blood", followed by the fade-in-introduction "elo Chicago would u please welcome from England," etcetera and only then continues with "Lettin' go." I wonder if anybody else, specially the people at Cleopatra ever noticed and faced the f***-up. I already wrote to the comp'ny but never got any reply or reaction in return, for that matter. Too bad, too sad... As far as I know, the problem does not exist with the originally recorded track sequence on bootlegs/CD-versions...at least...

They reverse the intro track.Dummies!! That is a deal breaker. One would think they would correct something like that.Already have CD versions. Their loss!!
