Dot released this Andrews Sisters collection in 1962, in an attempt to update the group with the times. The 12 songs here sound different from the traditional versions released on most greatest-hits collections. Many of have driving backbeats, sassy brass sections, and "Twist"-like grooves. It is overstating the mood on this LP considerably to say it's the Andrews Sisters gone mod (is was only 1962 after all), but the modern quality is stunning and thrilling.

The Andrews Sisters were the most popular female vocal group of the entire pre-1955 era with 90 hits. The sisters had a career spanning four decade with their songs becoming timeless classics. In the 1960s they re-recorded some of their chart successes with a more contemporary arrangement and in stereo. Both albums retain the trio's unique sound and vivacity and whilst only the timeless original platters may provide the nostalgic magic key, these re-recordings are well worth adding to any collection.

This hits-and-misses approach leaves out lots of good and well-remembered Andrews Sisters recordings. It also makes room for some interesting ones, including the sisters’ versions of the show tunes Guys and Dolls and Wunderbar and the swing standard Sing, Sing, Sing, plus two performances from the soundtrack to Private Buckaroo.
