AM Gold: TV Themes of the '60s is a theme album. It doesn't profess to be anything more, and that's why it stands up as quite a good pick within this genre. Themes don't make for a particularly exciting album, though the producers of this album made some exceptional choices. All of the selections on the album appear to be the original renditions, not necessarily the ones used on the shows themselves.

The "AM Gold" series continued through 1997, with a volume titled AM Gold: TV Themes of the'60s being the last to be issued; after a short break, several more volumes were issued through 2002, the last titled AM Gold: Perfect Harmony. In 1998, Time-Life issued two "budget" box sets, each containing three CDs or cassettes of 12 songs each, for retail sale.

Greatest TV Themes of The 50s & 60s CD Album Fifties and Sixties Soundtracks. This is a nice compilation of full versions of original themes from the late 80's and early '90s. Released in 1992, this is effectively a re-issue album of Weekend Records' "20 Great TV Themes " and "20 Top TV Themes", with a few extra themes thrown in for good measure, so don't expect up-to-date versions currently heard on TV today! There should be a more modern version of the soundtrack. However if you miss the good old days and the music that was around then then this is perfect for you. Best-selling in CDs.

Although I wasn't around in the 60's, I'm familiar with most of the songs on the set. My 4 year-old is very fond of the Turtles "Happy Together" and The Drifters "Under the Boardwalk". This is essentially the same set as the 1998 version and the cover is red, not pink as shown here.
