Talk about Electribe 101 - Electribal Memories

Naa
I can only add my voice to others: one of the best albums produced in the House period.
Olelifan
A massively underrated album and a good few years ahead of its time. The most soulful vocals set to electronics since Yazoo and a lovely sounding vinyl. Criminal that you can pick up a copy so cheaply.
Chi
Without doubt still one of the best house albums ever made! Sheer brilliance.
Mardin
Yes, a total masterpiece !

Certainly one of the best albums of the past 10 years! The beautiful and sinuous voice of Billie Ray Martin blends completely with the sonorities created by the group, and guides you on a fantastic journey in a hyperspace without musical boundaries and barriers. The title track "Talking with myself" is definitely the climax of the entire album, but "Tell me when the fever ended", "Lipstick on my lover", "Inside Out" or the wonderful "Talking" definitely worth the purchase of this album.

10 years? Wasn't it released in 1990?

The definitive CD version of this album, including a good selection of original 12" versions (including the brilliant Corporate Def mix of "You're Walking"). Track 12 is actually an edit of the second UK 12" After Dark Vocal Mix (which was nearer 8 minutes long), but it keeps the essence of this remix in slightly longer form than the available 7" edit. "Talking With Myself" is the classic, ofcourse, featured here in 3 different forms, and it's nice to get the album's title track, as it only appeared as a 12" b-side originally. OK, it's not a classic track, but it does sit well here. This album still sounds remarkably fresh today, possibly due to the careful production and emphasis on strong melodies laid over often sparse backing tracks. Well worth a listen.
