Yellow Magic Orchestra's first album and debut album in the UK and the US. Amazing mixing and composing of synth and the sound of video games were just absolutely amazing and it still is danceable beat! Their sounds proves that they are the genuine techno pop pioneer! .

Notes

First pressing on 1000 numbered copies on transparent vinyl.

Gatefold sleeve, two inserts - one a replica of the Japanese insert from the remixed LP, the other has both album track listings in English and Japanese on one side and on the other a reprint of the Netherlands 1979 LP insert that features a translation of the Japanese 1978 original insert. Protective PVC cover includes a YMO sticker.

Label designs - LP1 replicates the 1979 USA vinyl with a plain red label on one side and full track listing on the reverse. LP2 uses the Alfa label design used from 1980 to 1982 - not the original Japanese Alfa label.

LP1 - The USA version, mixed by Al Schmitt in 1978 'for a more USA-friendly sound'.
LP2 - Original Japanese version.

Recorded at Studio "A", Shibaura, Tokyo, 1978.

According to MOV: 'We received and used high res audio files (96 KHZ / 24 BIT) of the original masters.'

Talk about Yellow Magic Orchestra - Yellow Magic Orchestra USA & Yellow Magic Orchestra

Doukasa
Sound quality is stunning. For comparison I think it sounds better than my 1980 pressing of Solid State survivor. Also awesome that both versions of the album are included. Glad I didn't skimp and buy a cheap US original, never realized how many minor differences there are between the two. Japanese version remains my favorite. The scans inside the gatefold are low resolution. The jacket is really glossy. Overall really happy with this version and this is a great way to go if you want the Japanese version.
Goldendragon
Would love to know how the pressing and packaging is on this re-issue. I've had some mixed experiences with Music On Vinyl - bad pressing with duplicate ghosting audio, low image quality etc - so any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
The Rollers of Vildar
Personally, found it to be really great. Quality of images on packaging is good, and the sound quality is really great. Can't say how it compares to original pressings though. Thankfully ive had not one bad experience with MOV yet.
