The Chauve-souris (ショヴスリ Shovusuri?) (French for "bat", meaning bald mouse) is the main weapon Isaac uses during his first battle with Hector and during the battle with Trevor. It is essential in getting the final evolution of the Devil-Type Innocent Devil, The End. The deciphered message that only a Tiramisu Fairy-Type Innocent Devil can read is in the Infinite Corridor. The Chauve-souris is mistranslated as "Shyovasli" in the US version; it correctly says "Chauve-souris" in the European version.

In 1934 Balieff created a new Chauve-Souris production, which proved to be his last theatrical venture. Several recordings were made of Sauve-Chouris numbers.
