Paulo de Carvalho (born Manuel Paulo de Carvalho Costais, in Lisbon, on 15 May 1947) is a Portuguese singer. Carvalho co-founded the band, The Sheiks, in 1965. He sang and played the drums. He also played an instrumental role, either as a founder or a guest, of many other important Portuguese bands of the 1960s, among them bands such as Fluido, Banda 4 and Thilo's Combo. The Sheiks was Portugals answer to the Beatles. During the 1960s Portugal was ruled by an authoritarian dictatorship.

He started in the band "Os Sheiks", known as the "Portuguese Beatles", ended in 1968 by his call to the Portuguese army. When back from the army, he was a part of various projects (Fluido e Thilo´s Combo) before starting his solo career.

Colabora nos dois restantes, Walk On The Grass e Flor Sem Tempo o grupo Sindicato, liderado por Jorge Palma. A produção destes dois temas foi de João Martins. Todos os outros tiveram arranjos e direcção musical de Thilo Krasmann.
