Karl Münchinger first heard Elly Ameling's voice on his car radio in 1964, and decided then and there that he must include her on his first Bach choral recording, scheduled to take place that July. His judgement was well rewarded. She is impeccable vocally and her singing is beautiful and highly expressive.
