Its lead hit single, Freddie Mercury’s rock-pop Killer Queen was the sheer chart attack catalyst of the album’s popularity, creating Queen-mania in the . much of Europe, including some of Eastern Europe, and particularly in Japa. ueen’s first presence in Japan, during their first tour there (or leg thereof, in support of Sheer Heart Attack ) drew a Japanese-flavored frenzy of Beatle-maniacal proportions. This third album’s popularity also spurred sales of Queen and Queen II, which re-charted (or charted for the first time) in various countries. Queen impressed, especially on-stage, as a curiosity (or simply a rather entertaining ensemble to behold live).
