Out Of Many One People. Jazz Warriors formed as an ad hoc group by 1986. This album was recorded in 1987 and features five tunes, three composed by the young Courtney Pine, who now needs no further reference. The other two tunes come from a young trombonist Fayyaz Virji, and the older statesman, Harry Beckett who also plays on this album. The other experienced musician is South African Claude Deppa (tpt). Other musicians have had mixed fortunes in terms of a career in music but amongst the more successful are the vocalist Cleveland Watkiss, vibes player Orphy Robinson and drummer Mark Mondesir.

For many decades, Philadelphia has been home to a cadre of multi-generational jazz musicians who go on year-after-year composing, arranging and performing some of the best, highest level music to be heard anywhere.
