Geoff Keezer Trio - World Music flac album

Pianist Geoff Keezer, a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers at the time, teams up with bassist James Genus, drummer Tony Reedus and sometimes percussionist Rudy Bird on a high-quality set of swinging modern mainstream music. The set ranges from "It's Only a Paper Moon" and "Black and Tan Fantasy" to "Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair" and originals by Keezer, Thad Jones, Mulgrew Miller and James Williams.

I saw Geoff Keezer perform the music on this CD at a small club in Wash. I was just blown away. The next day both me a two friends went to the "Record Store" (Tower?) and were delighted to find the CD in stock. Somewhere along the way I lost this album. I am ecstatic to FINALLY be able to own it again. He attcks the keyboard with supreme confidence and an almost arrogant aplomb. His renditions of covers are fresh, unique and enightening. A joyful experience! I have other Keezer albums but for me this is the treasure.

Geoffrey Keezer was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA on November 20, 1970. Born into a musical family, with both parents teaching music, he began studying piano at the age of three. In 1989, at the age of 18, after completing his first year at the Berklee College of Music, Geoffrey joined Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers.
