Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version is Ol' Dirty Bastard’s debut solo album, released two years after Wu-Tang Clan’s legendary debut, Enter the 36 Chambers. This was the second Wu-Tang member solo album to be released since 36 Chambers, the first being Method Man’s Tical. Critics praised Dirty’s bizarre, unique delivery, and the album was nominated for a 1996’s Best Rap Album at the Grammys-It lost to Naughty By Nature’s Poverty’s Paradise.
