Rites of Spring was an American post-hardcore band from Washington, . Although they were only together from the spring of 1984 through the winter of 1986, they helped define the Revolution Summer sound along with Dag Nasty and Embrace, among others. Following the band's dissolution, singer and guitarist Guy Picciotto, guitarist Eddie Janney, and drummer Brendan Canty formed One Last Wish with Embrace alumnus Michael Hampton.

Patience Rites of Spring's full-length LP, released in 1985. This download includes songs from the "All Through A Life" 7" + one extra track. Formed in 1984, Rites of Spring was Guy Picciotto, Eddie Janney, Michael Fellows, and Brendan Canty. The band released one full-length, "End on End", and a 7", both on Dischord Records. Brendan and Guy later went on to play in Fugazi.

For one summer, in 1985, the District of Columbia declared itself the epicenter of the new punk rock, a flashpoint still roiling with the energy of its peerless hardcore scene but possessed of a restless desire to push beyond the now-familiar formulas of that genre into something unexpected and utterly vital. Of course, this isn’t new Rites of Spring material in the purest sense of the word, as we’ve heard these songs re-recorded for the LP.
