Honey is the seventh studio album by American band the Ohio Players. Released on August 16, 1975 by Mercury Records. It is generally regarded as a classic, the band's best album, and the last great full-length release of their dominant era in the mid-1970s. Like previous albums by the band, Honey is known for a racy cover photo. Born Van Allen Clinton McCoy on January 6, 1940, in Washington, . as a child he sang with the Metropolitan Baptist Church choir, and by the age of 12 he was writing his own songs in addition to performing in local amateur shows alongside older brother, Norman Jr. The McCoy siblings eventually partnered with high-school friends Freddy Smith and Paul Comedy in the doo wop combo the Starlighters. McCoy also arranged several hits for Philly soul legends the Stylistics, but despite his success as a writer and producer, he still sought approval as a performer. In 1972 he issued a solo LP, Soul Improvisations (later retitled From Disco to Love), but it went nowhere.

Love Rollercoaster " is a song by American funk, R&B band Ohio Players, originally featured on their 1975 album Honey. It was composed by Beck, Bonner, Jones, Middlebrooks, Pierce, Satchell, and Williams. It was a number-one . hit in January 1976, and became a Gold record. Gold Soul, Ohio Players. Contradiction, Ohio Players. include a performance from the Stylistics with jams like Stop, Look Listen and its biggest hit, You Make Me Feel Brand New as well as a set by the OhioPlayers, known for its hits Fire and LoveRollercoaster.
The following year the Ohio Players enjoyed their greatest success with their No. 1 album Fire, led by the No. 1 title track and subsequent No. 1, I Want to Be Free. Heralded as the Ohio Players’ masterpiece, the record combined seductive soulful vocals, the groove and beat of funk, and the alluring poetry of R&B to create something timeless. The band’s subsequent release, 1975’s Honey also found favour among fans and critics alike, aided by the le smash hit single Love Rollercoaster. Opening with usual Love Rollercoaster and finishing with Sticky Thing but for me was best vocal of the night was during Funky Worm.
