The discography of The Weakerthans, a Canadian indie rock band, consists of four studio albums, one live album and concert video, one EP, one single, and eight music videos. The Weakerthans formed in Winnipeg in 1997 with the lineup of John K. Samson (vocals, guitar), John P. Sutton (bass guitar), and Jason Tait (drums)
This song is by The Weakerthans and appears on the album Left and Leaving (2000). I count to three and grin, you smile and let me inWe sit and watch the wall you painted purpleSpeech will spill on space, our little cups of graceBut pauses rattle on about the way. That you cut the snow-fence, braved the blood, the metal of those heartsThat you always end up pressing your tongue toHow your body still remembers things you told it to forgetHow those furious affections followed you.
Admittedly held back by the fact that it is only three tracks long, the Weakerthans' follow-up EP to 2000's phenomenal Left and Leaving doesn't compare so much as serve to remind fans and critics of what makes this band so good. Far distanced from his days as "the quiet guy" in Propaghandi, John K. Samson has become a fine pop songwriter with the talent to fuse catchy melodies with punk rock
