It's all here; bashing guitars, inane posturing, post-World War pre-apocalyptic lyrics, and the gratuitous use of German to indicate an implied hip brave-new-world lity in the face of an increasingly chaotic world. If you like music with no purpose, this album is for you. Just don't pretend that it's good.

I was in town to cover a bizarre New Wave event: Blondie performing on the U of T football field for a scene in the daffy 1980 rock movie Roadie (with Meat Loaf as the title character). The real buzz was at Raul’s that night

Recorded live at Raul's in Austin TX, September 19th & 20th, 1980. The Big Boys' song "Authority" is also listed on the back cover but does not appear on the record. The tracklist here should be correct. Also, this LP has a "Side B", for Big Boys, and "Side D" for The Dicks. Matrix, Runout (Side B, Etched): RRR-80351-B S-8079.

Live At Raul's is an album by The Big Boys and The Dicks. In 1992, Selfless Records issued a double 7" called Live at Raul's Club featuring 6 songs from this record (three from each group) along with 2 previously unreleased live songs. 1. Album – Album, is a collection of audio recordings issued as a single item on CD, record, audio tape, or another medium. Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century album sales have mostly focused on compact disc and MP3 formats. The audio cassette was a format used from the late 1970s through to the 1990s alongside vinyl, an album may be recorded in a recording studio, in a concert venue, at home, in the field, or a mix of places.

A great sampler of live punk from Austin's version of the punk scene of the late 1970s. This is not thrash or anger punk but more like pop-punk. Contains 12 tracks including two great live tracks of Roky Erickson backed up by The Explosives, and two from The Explosives without Roky. The sound quality is pretty good throughout and sounds more like a studio recording rather than a club but is definitely from the club in front of a live audience. The two tracks with Roky are worth the money for the CD alone but there are other good strong tracks throughout
