Talk about Luna - Slide

Foginn
This is a daring little EP featuring unexpected songs, presented in that hypnotic layered rock fashion that only Luna are capable of. Now if I were writing this review at the time of it’s release I’d be going on about each and everyone of the numbers, but since that time, all but “Rollercoaster” have found their way onto one of Luna’s formal albums.“Rollercoaster” is reason enough to search out this release, the music actually quivers, while driving guitars and vocals relentlessly carry the music at a blistering pace ... full of fuzz and feedback, laid on you at such a volume that you’ll feel like you’ve just crested the top of the slide, you’re on the down hill hurtle, tracks clacking, and people screaming all around you, as the carnival lights blur past at lightening speed. Music doesn’t get much more fun then this.“Hey Sister” is a demo version that caused me to immediately compare the two, leaving little doubt that both are equally good, and either could have been the one chosen for their first album, Lunapark. But here on Slide, “Hey Sister” is the calm before the storm ... the perfect lead-in for “Rollercoaster.”
