The album was the second release on Bad Boy Records, following The Notorious . s classic Ready to Die by one week. Propelled by the success of the Platinum RIAA-selling smash hit single "Flava in Ya Ear", the album was certified Gold by the RIAA on February 22, 1995 and has sold over 650,000 copies in the United States.
