The Dark is the second full-length album released by the American heavy metal band Metal Church. It was released on October 6, 1986 and was the last album featuring the group's classic lineup of David Wayne, Kurdt Vanderhoof, Kirk Arrington, Duke Erickson, and Craig Wells. 1999's Masterpeace album reunited the former four, with John Marshall replacing Wells.

Blackened death metal (also known as black death metal) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal that fuses elements of black metal and death metal. The genre typically employs death growls, tremolo picking, blast beats, and Satanic lyrics and imagery. Bands of the genre typically employ corpse paint, which was adapted from black metal.

Dark and Progressive, I love Dark Metal. Come on this album spawned the genre, though I do love Death and I personally think they're the best Death Metal band, Scream Bloody Gore did NOT create Death Metal, Seven Churches did, but both are great albums. The first death metal album.

Pretty exciting progressive death metal album from the United States. It avoids many of the technical clichés and goes for solid songwriting and atmosphere instead. Occult death metal from Norway with a black metal edge. Should please fans of Sulphur Aeon. Suffocation . f the Dark Light. Far from the Suffocation classics, but there are still some good tunes on this one. Clarity Through Deprivation is an especially nasty tune with a breakdown chorus that’s bound to get stuck on your head. Temple of Void – Lords of Death. Murky, death/doom metal-infused darkness that I found highly enjoyable. Should appeal to fans of cavernous death metal like Funebrarum or the Finnish style. Vallenfyre – Fear Those Who Fear Him.

Though Waters’ lyrical dominance on Dark Side essentially planted the seeds for the massive rift that would eventually occur between him and the rest of the band, it was actually welcomed at the time. I never rated myself terribly highly in the lyrics department, and Roger wanted to do it, Gilmour admitted to Rolling Stone in 2011. 2. The album was very nearly called Eclipse. From the beginning, the band had intended to call their new album Dark Side of the Moon – a reference to lunacy, as opposed to outer space – but when British heavy blues rockers Medicine Head released an album of the same name in 1972, it caused the Floyd to rechristen their project as Eclipse. We weren’t annoyed at Medicine Head, Gilmour told Sounds magazine. We were annoyed because we had already thought of the title before the Medicine Head album came out.

With great pleasure we present our latest compilation, The Dark Side of Dawn. Along with this morning forest . we have released a digital four track EP, which you can get on our Bandcamp page, to complete the collection. supported by 19 fans who also own VA The Dark Side of Dawn.
