Low Frequency Fugitive by Bass Junkie, released 02 March 2018 1. Low Frequency Fugitive 2. Liquid Engineering 3. ? Everything 4. Surrender Or Be Destroyed! Few authentic Electro producers from the UK can wear the badge ‘legend’ with the same level of justification as Phil Klein aka Bass Junkie. datrus Always loved Bass Junkie's work and this new offering is no exception. Expertly layered with just the right touches of grit, funk and feeling.

His ‘Low Frequency Fugitive’ EP is a welcome return for his Bass Junkie project, after several years working primarily on collabs. The EP brings four new tracks that maintain the Bass Junkie sound that brought him such success and notoriety in the first place, with a healthy dose of evolution too.

Talk about Bass Junkie - Return To Bass EP

Dalallador
A1: Electro, funky bass line with spacey (70's) DR Who synths. Nice layering so the track continuously varies and builds momentum up until the pre 1st breakdown which is overly minimal and long. Everything kicks back into to gear and happiness returns. The 2nd breakdown is handled much more smartly focusing the failure of the first. [NINE]A2: Electro, noodley opening with dodgy vocal sample. Almost hoover bass kicks in and it all goes a bit old school breakbeat. The middle section cuts around the beat diminishing the track then the hoover returns with some nice floaty synths but things haven't work out for this one. [SIX]B1: Electro, short messy, intro makes way for some brilliant parallel synth loops so you're really onside when the alien vocoder demands you "Return to bass". Like a more vintage Crème De Menthe. Brilliant fun, a triumph. [GOLDTEN]B2: Electro, every bit as effective as the B1 and perfect if you've issues with the vocal, but then you must have issue's with fun. [TEN]
