Levitation is the tenth studio album by English space rock group Hawkwind, released in 1980. It peaked at No. 21 on the UK Albums Chart. At the time of its release, band leader Dave Brock stated: "with Levitation we’ve come full circle back to the style of our debut album

An interesting note is that this is the first album to have Langton on it since their debut. Having recovered from his five year acid binge in the early seventies, his second guitar on this record is most welcome. On this album, Hawkwind is: Dave Brock – vocals, electric guitar, keyboards Huw Lloyd-Langton – electric guitar, acoustic guitar, backing vocals Harvey Bainbridge – bass guitar, keyboards, backing vocals Tim Blake – keyboards, backing vocals Ginger Baker – drums. Levitation is a different beast to the past few Hawkwind records.

Levitation was originally released as Bronze Records BRON 530 in November 1980.

There are some errors in the writing credits on this release. Tracks 2-3 and 3-4 are written by Robert Calvert and Dave Brock, track 3-5 is written by Steve Swindells, but the notes state (incorrectly) that all tracks are written by Dave Brock.
