Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters is a 1974 satirical concept album by Robert Calvert, the former frontman of British space-rock band Hawkwind. It consists of a mixture of songs and comic spoken interludes. The concept was based on the German Air Ministry's purchase of the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, colloquially known as the Widowmaker.

Robert Calvert, a longtime member and lyricist of space pioneers Hawkwind, crafted this record, inspired by the Lockheed bribery scandals. Hardly the stuff of fluff, it’s no surprise that Calvert, who, according to the liner notes, always wanted to join Britain’s Royal Air Force (he even wore . overalls onstage at times during his Hawkwind days) saw the headlines generated by Lockheed’s abysmal legacy surrounding the Starfighter F-104 as creative stimulus.
