Bernie Brown is from Athlone, Cape Town, South Africa. He started off his career with Lunar 5 in the 1960s, later moving on to The Soul Conspiracy before following a solo career. He had a hit with 'Sing Out Glory' in 1971. He left South Africa in 1971 after having worked on the Percy Sledge and Adam Wade Shows. He travelled the world as an entertainer, including the USA and Italy, before settling in Australia in 1986, where he still performs today. This song was released in 1970.

The title refers to a song on John's album 21 at 33, "Two Rooms at the End of the World", and to the duo's unusual collaborative style; it is also the title of a 1991 film documenting their collaboration.
