On this, his debut album and only officially released full-length record for Arista, Byron rages through a set of first-rate original compositions (in later years Byron became a successful hit songwriter for other artists) with the flailing guitar fury of a prototypical angry young man. While some artists fitting this description tend to get bogged down in politics, Byron remains true to the power pop credo of "girls, girls, girls" and delivers one biting examination of failed (or failing) romantic relationships after another.

Album The Works of Lord Byron, Vol. 7. On This Day I Complete My Thirty-Sixth Year Lyrics. On This Day I Complete My Thirty-Sixth Year. January 22nd, Missolonghi. Summary This was the last poem Lord Byron wrote before he died at age 36. Composed on January 22nd, 1824 at Missolonghi in Greece, having arrived three weeks earlier and taken command of his army of liberation which would free Greece from the Turks. But he died of fever on 19 April, possibly caused by infection from the poor medical practices of the time. The autobiographical story starts with Byron looking back on his past thirty-six years, having passed his youth and reached maturity as he contemplates going to war to fight for Greek Independence.

To do nothing In this day and age, When so much pointless work Is being produced, Could almost be considered an achievement. It all compares most unfavorably With my own imaginary Body of work. John Tottenham, The Inertia Variations. Simply put, in this day and age means now, at the present time. An age is a period of time, such as the Middle Ages, the Axial Age, or the Dark Ages. While those times are all in the past, this day and age refers to the current time- this day. Remember, a day is not necessarily a 24-hour period of time. As in this expression, it often refers to an indefinite span of time, especially in comparison with the past.

Morn came and went-and came, and brought no day, And men forgot their passions in the dread. Of this their desolation; and all hearts. The most flamboyant and notorious of the major English Romantic poets, George Gordon, Lord Byron, was likewise the most fashionable poet of the early 1800s. He created an immensely popular Romantic hero-defiant, melancholy, haunted by secret guilt-for which, to many, he seemed the model
