Talk about Husky And The Sandmen - Ridin' The Wild Surf

Gold Crown
Strangely enough, I have found that instrumental surf music that is most varied and different seems to come from the unlikeliest places. Scandinavia seems to be one of those places, and I've loved Laika & The Cosmonauts for years, and have recently also discovered The Surfites. But despite the fact that they've been around for several years, I've just now discovered Husky & the Sandmen. This isn't formulaic stuff by any means. They kind of stick to the basics while still wandering into new territories with the melodies. Full of energy and with enough originality to be appealingly different, this album puts a smile on my face. "Diamond Eye" and "Flight to Venus" are my favorites, but there's not a clunker on the CD. Well worth seeking out.
