Drum Suite is an album by drummer Art Blakey with The Jazz Messengers and the Art Blakey Percussion Ensemble recorded in late 1956 and early 1957 and originally released on the Columbia label. The 2005 CD reissue added three tracks from a June 1956 session, two of them previously released on Originally in 1982.

Drums – Art Blakey (tracks: B1 to A3), Jo Jones (tracks: B1 to B3). Piano – Ray Bryant (tracks: B1 to B3), Sam Dockery (tracks: A1 to A3). Producer – Henri Renaud. Timpani – Specs Wright (tracks: B1 to B3). Trumpet – Bill Hardman (tracks: A1 to A3). Notes. Side A: NYC, December 13, 1956 Side B: NYC, Febuary 22, 1957.

Recorded in 1956, Art Blakey's Drum Suite is a wonderful hybrid of African, Latin, and hard bop rhythms that prefigures the concept of Afro-beat by at least a decade, and the sheer energy, not to mention its very special and fresh-sounding intimacy, make it especially astounding.
