All We Grow is the debut album of S. Carey. The album was recorded over a period of two years at Carey's home and at Justin Vernon's studio during breaks from touring with Bon Iver. Carey has cited Justin Vernon, Megafaun, Bowerbirds, . Bondy, Collections of Colonies of Bees, Feist, and Sigur Rós as some of his major inspirations for All We Grow.

It is not often on All We Grow that a line conquers what acts as instrumental surface tension to make itself heard but rather than leaving the songs feeling unfinished, this recreates the effect of a half-remembered dream in which you are invited to fill in the blanks. The first case is in ‘Move’ – after an Apollo-esque Eno introduction and an acoustic guitar tone so bright you could almost pluck the soundwaves from in front of the speaker, we hear Carey’s resigned tone, If I could run my fingers through your hair.

Heard "In the Dirt" at the end of an episode of House M.D., and every time I watch that episode the song grabs me. The whole album is of the same sublime calibre.
Lost Python
The sticker on the front says enough: "Lush arrangements and subtle songcraft." If that poster would mean a sheet with the lyrics on it, then that is correct. Although together with the download coupon it's also included in non pre-order releases.
