Progressive rock (shortened as prog; sometimes called art rock, classical rock or symphonic rock) is a broad genre of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom and United States throughout the mid- to late 1960s. Initially termed "progressive pop", the style was an outgrowth of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard pop traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk, or classical music

Carmen, ‘Fandangos in Space’ (1973). Flamenco prog: a pretty ridiculous idea, even for 1973. But London-based Carmen made that synthesis feel revolutionary on their debut LP, chasing the vision of Los Angeles singer-guitarist David Allen (who was assisted by his sister and keyboardist Angela Allen). Europe may have been the epicenter of progressive rock during the 1970s, but prog was certainly thriving in the American heartland as well. Influenced by Yes and Genesis, but also boasting serious Southern Rock fire and swing, Kansas' fourth album sold more than five million copies, largely on the strength of its bong-rattling opener "Carry On Wayward So.

Since the late 60's to mid-70's Skaldowie were one of the most popular and best (pop)rock groups from Poland - along with Czerwone Gitary and Breakout. They played a combination of vintage rock, Polish folk, some jazz, pop and classical music - with prominent and splendid Hammond organ parts & really nice melodies.
In 1972 the band recorded a progressive and truly superb LP "Krywań, Krywań" - without a doubt their best (although relatively unknown) effort, slightly similar to Procol Harum & The Nice, but also to the early Premiata Forneria Marconi and some other Italian groups of this period!
This 80 minutes-long CD constains all the recordings made outside of Poland between 1970 and 1973 (but sung in their native language) and published in Czechoslovakia, East Germany and the Soviet Union.
For the first time on CD - in audiophile quality!
