Come and enjoy yourself.

My Teenage Stride is Jedediah Smith on instruments and a rotating cast of musicians. MTS's two early records and 7"s garnered praise from the indie pop world but 2007's Ears Like Golden Bats was the album which captured a larger audience, with its now-trendy pastiche of early 80s Flying Nun mid-fi pop, C-86 guitar spazzstics, 70s Eno vibes, Spector/60s melodic sensibility, and abstruse, often morbid lyrics.

My Teenage Stride started in 2003 as the ment recording project of Jedediah Smith. Eventually a small buzz grew and Smith took his songs into the world with a shifting cast of band members. After two albums and two 7"s received much adulation in the global cult pop community, MTS arrived at large with 2007's Ears Like Golden Bats, a sort of aural encyclopedia of 60s pop and 80s post-punk put through the spooky and idiosyncratic prism of Smith's particular emotional and cultural obsessions. MTS is planning to work with legendary producer/musician Marc Kramer (Butthole Surfers, Galaxie 500, Bongwater) on this album and your donations can help make it happen.

My Teenage Stride is Jedediah Smith with Brett Whitmoyer, and a rotating cast of other musicians, such as Jenny Logan from Ribbons and Jeff Ciprioni from The Metric Mile. The group began in Brooklyn in 2004, essentially as a bedroom project for permanently wired songwriter and t Smith. As interest rose and an album was released, Smith slowly got together a proper band, though he is still the sole instrumentalist on the bulk of the band's recordings to date.

My Teenage Stride is a band from Brooklyn, New York, with influences including The Smiths and The Jesus and Mary Chain. They have released four albums since 2004. My Teenage Stride (or "MTS") started in 2003 as "the ment recording project of Jedediah Smith," providing a band identity for Smith's multi-instrumental solo recordings. Over the years, the group has consisted of Jedediah Smith and a shifting cast of band members.
