ROCK DUO MAGMA CD 59m Around the world there have been a few bands named Magma, most famously the French one, and then there was one from South America. Yet, it seems this duo never knew! I think it's best to refer to them as Rock Duo Magma to avoid any confusion, don't you? As a classical focused keyboards and drums duo, one could say that they were very much in the early Bo Hansson vein, but with touches of The Nice, etc. Compared to Sixty Nine, these were far more straight and not experimental at all really, and thus comparable to Twogether, who you can also read about below.

To summarize "Rock Duo Magma" is perfect addition to prog-rock lovers interested in both psychedelic Krautrock and early symphonic rock. And of course fans of Hammond-driven music has to check it out too. Additionally take note, that this record sounds more like from 1969-1973 period than 1975 staff. A German duo MAGMA (not related to the famous French Zeuhl combo lol) has appeared in mid 1970s with only one album shot and disappeared soon. This "Rock Duo Magma" is an unknown (but a tad known overthere) stuff, their only one. Basically their motivation in this album (and also on stage I imagine) might be keyboard-based bluesy rock with amateurish voices, and obviously Detlef's keyplay weirdness, kaleidoscopic appearances should solidify their soundscape.
