Don't Sweat the Technique is the fourth and final studio album by American hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, released on June 23, 1992, by MCA Records. It was recorded and produced by Eric B. & Rakim at The Hit Factory in New York City. The album builds on the sounds of 1990's Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em, with Rakim sounding more aggressive on Eric . s jazzy, soulful production.

Including a clutch of hip-hop/R&B crossover anthems, The Very Best of Pure R&B has a bizarre title but a winning tracklisting. Despite the cover photo, don't expect to hear Cold Sweat in this mix. I was playing records for Russell Stephen's 60's night, The In Sound and someone I didn't know actually requested Cold Sweat, which in Dumfries was a surprise (a welcome one). As it happened I had the 45 pictured in my box but it is so rinsed that I had to turn the guy down. It just wasn't a clean enough copy. I was pretty gutted I couldn't play it as I was aiming to play something with Clyde Stubblefield (RIP) on it anyway
