The original version of this 2 CD set was released in 1994 and came as a plastic gatefold wallet with the two CDs each housed in a nice sleeve. 2-09 is incorrectly titled 'In-Flux (Alternative Interlude '93 Remix)'.

Various Artists Headz (A Soundtrack Of Experimental Beathead Jams. After a forgettable false start peddling iffy acid jazz, Mo’ Wax made a stylistic shift in 1994, kickstarting a four-year period that continues to resonate two decades on. The first Headz compilation is a neat 18-track digest of that transition, a declaration of what was to come. Experimental players throughout the world were desperate to open up a conversation with younger producers, and trip-hop (as well as drum & bass) was an obvious crash-pad, considering its liberal pilfering of the genre via sampling. Ki Oku is one of the best examples of this collision, despite trumpeter Toshinori Kondo turning in a surprisingly straightforward performance throughout.
