Before there was Yes' "Owner of a Lonely Heart," there was just Trevor Rabin. He had gotten his professional start in the South African band Rabbit and Face to Face was his second solo release after that band. The album, released in 1980, is very nearly a true solo release, with Rabin only joined by drummers and a backing vocalist. The music presented here shows an artist who has not yet reached his maturity in terms of songwriting.

Trevor Rabin does all but Drums on this Album and ever song is a true Rock and Roll experience among my fav's are : I'm Old Enough, The Ripper, Candy's Bar. If you look in the dictionary under "80's Guitar Rock" you will find Face To Face!. Today I was going through the music on my MP3 player to see what could be removed to make room for new albums, and gave a listen to "Face to Face". Woo boy, is this thing bad. Don't get me wrong - I'm not one of those Yes fans that automatically bash anything Rabin-related. I love 90125, like a good bit of Big Generator and I'm even one of the seemingly few fans of the Talk album. Trevor's solo discs "Can't Look Away" and "Jacaranda" are both quite good. Even his debut solo album isn't bad.
