Figure Out Your Album Art. Album art is still important. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! I’ve already written about the importance of album art in today’s music landscape. The bottom line? Album art still plays an important visual role for your music. In fact, it’s often the only visual element you get to control on digital music stores that display everyone’s album in the same font and format as the next artist’s. So your art is important! The key word here is ‘art. Your music is your art, so the image you pick should have just as much care and creativity put into it as your music

Man: Yeah, the new album comes out next week. It’s called Variations, and I think it’s quite different to my last album. A lot of the songs on that were to do with dealing with being successful, as lots of second albums are, I suppose. But while I was on tour recently I, er,fell in love, actually, and I think that’s what’s motivated me to write these twelve tracks.

So put out a single first. Be ready to do the grunt work. 10. Use singles in CONJUNCTION with an album release.
