If there's one person I revere when talking about noise it's Dominick Fernow, better known to the shadowy corners of the noise world as Prurient. There's something about his approach to the sound which for me puts him at the top of the tree, forcing music that could easily be simple, throwaway distorted jams into so much more

Turn to Stone is a compilation album by Virginia doom metal band Pentagram, comprising songs from their first three albums: Relentless, Day of Reckoning and Be Forewarned. Prurient is noise musician Dominick Fernow. He has released material on numerous independent record labels, such as American Tapes, Hanson Records, RRRecords, Load Records, Troubleman Unlimited, Chrondritic Sound, and his own label Hospital Productions. Active since 1997, Prurient has become one of the most well-known and influential names in the noise field, having been covered in major outlets such as Pitchfork Media and The Village Voice. Fernow works primarily with a microphone and amplifier, and sometimes drums.

HMO was the earliest project from O’Neal starting in the late 80s and early 90s that could be a rural american counterpart to England’s Nurse With Wound middle period. Housed in a deluxe sleeve with manual artwork by visual artist Adam Marnie, whose works have been featured previously on Prurient’s epic ‘Frozen Niagara Falls’.

Dominick Fernow is an American experimental musician, poet and multimedia artist. He is best known for extreme music released under the stage name Prurient, as well as numerous other aliases including Vatican Shadow and Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement. His first releases date back to 1998, the same year in which he founded the record label Hospital Productions.
