The Belle Époque or La Belle Époque (French: ; French for "Beautiful Era") was a period of Western history. It is conventionally dated from the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 to the outbreak of World War I in 1914. Occurring during the era of the French Third Republic (beginning 1870), it was a period characterized by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity, an apex of colonial empires, and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations.

Fernand Coppieters (March 3, 1905, Brussels - September 9, 1981, Brussels) is a Belgian jazz and light music keyboardist. Primarily known as a pianist and organist, he also occasionally played accordion, saxophone, and violin. He was the father of Francis Coppieters. Coppieters's first professional work was with the ensemble Bistrouille ADO (1920-1921).

Yvette Guilbert was a French cabaret singer and actress of the Belle Époque. Guilbert debuted at the Variette Theatre in 1888. She eventually sang at the popular Eldorado club, then at the Jardin de Paris before headlining in Montmartre at the Moulin Rouge in 1890.

Jean-Georges Béraud (1849-1935) was an Russian -born French Impressionist painter, known for his typical Parisian life scene during La Belle Époque period.
