The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra has probably never been better. Elfrida Andrée composed a large quantity of chamber music and several superb symphonic works. While following in the tracks of her teacher, Ludvig Norman, she was also deeply influenced by the music of Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schubert. She was the first woman in Sweden to graduate as an organist and also became the first female cathedral organist, with a position at Gothenburg Cathedral.

The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (Swedish: Kungliga Filharmonikerna or Kungliga Filharmoniska Orkestern, literal translations, "Royal Philharmonic" or "Royal Philharmonic Orchestra") is a Swedish orchestra based in Stockholm. The orchestra was founded in 1902 as the Stockholm Concert Society (Stockholms Konsertföreningens orkester). It became a permanent ensemble in 1914. Since 1926, it has been based at Stockholm Concert Hall (Konserthuset).
