The confession album, or confession book, was a kind of autograph book popular in late nineteenth century Britain. The genre died out towards the end of the century, with occasional brief revivals in the twentieth century

Talk about The End - My Confession

MEGA FREEDY

This is one of the lesser known gems from the post punk Brisbane scene and is incredibly scarce. The End were clearly under the influence of the Velvet Underground and their early live sets were sprinkled with worthy covers. When they moved to Sydney Ron Peno soon joined and they morphed into Died Pretty. Its really a double A side, both songs are equally as good - just keep flipping it over! Brett Myers proves he is also a great vocalist despite handing over vocal duties to Ron Peno in Died Pretty. If you collect Australian post-punk you really have to own this one - luckily the 2 songs have been included on (The End) Was the Beginning double CD (Citadel, 2013) which is much easier to find.The picture sleeves were hand screened and there can be quite a difference between each individual sleeve. I have uploaded my sleeve here to enable a comparison. The labels were hand written - again, you can check out the images above if you're interested.
