Moonlighting: The Anthology is a compilation album released by Roger Daltrey on 7 February 2005. The collection is notable for including tracks from various projects throughout his career, such as stage and film appearances, as well as a good sampling of songs from his discography. It was released on the Sanctuary label in the UK and also included "A Second Out," a previously unreleased song written by Daltrey and Steve McEwan of the band UnAmerican.
Moonlighting: The Anthology. In 2005, the good folks at Sanctuary compiled a pair of double-disc sets that spotlighted the solo works of Who members John Entwistle (So Who's the Bass Player: The Ox Anthology) and Roger Daltrey (Moonlighting: The Anthology). Since Pete Townshend wrote the majority of the Who's material, Entwistle's songs were usually delegated to only one or two per album (or B-sides), while Daltrey was usually left completely in the cold. But while Entwistle wrote his own songs, Daltrey did not, as he relies on the help of outside writers throughout Moonlighting
Roger Harry Daltrey, CBE (born 1 March 1944) is an English singer and actor. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Daltrey came to prominence in the mid 1960s as the founder and lead singer of the English rock band The Who, which released fourteen singles that entered the top ten charts in the United Kingdom during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, including "I Can't Explain", "My Generation", "Substitute", "I'm. a Boy", "Happy Jack", "Pictures of Lily", "Pinball Wizard", "Won't Get Fooled Again", and. 1992–2012 The Anthology is a three-disc compilation album by Underworld, released 4 December 2011 on underworldlive. com for digital download.
Think Roger Daltrey and what springs to mind? If you were to ask me, I'd say raw energy, powerful sensitivity and screaming, and with his new double album, that's exactly what you can expect& lots of it. The rock 'n' roll granddaddy's latest offering, Moonlighting - The Anthology, spans 30 years worth of solo career alongside his 'day-job' as The Who's mic swinging front-man. The style leaps track by track from rock splendour to over-produced shout-fests. But Daltrey never pretends to be anything he isn't, and you get the idea that he toys with.
Support The Guardian. For his second disc, whose title Ride a Rock Horse provoked a hilarious sleeve illustration of Daltrey as a breast-beating centaur, Rodge tumbled into Overproduction City and disappeared under a landslide of horns and backing vocalists. Then came stuff like Bitter and Twisted, where he sounds like Dennis Waterman after a long lunch, an Artful Dodger version of Mack the Knife, the utterly preposterous Lovers Storm, and a baffling rendition of The Pig Must Die, from Mike Batt's musical The Hunting of the Snark.
