The band doesn't function on pop based hooks, but rather the creation of atmosphere through bludgeoning riffs. This is an album that needs to be experienced as a whole rather than listened to with a passive interest.

The two last studio albums from Neurosis called Souls at Zero and Enemy of the Sun have really impressed me and opened my eyes to Neurosis very unique brand of experimental metal. Through Silver In Blood brings out the best of all things Neurosis had been experimenting with.
