Dark Horse is the sixth studio album by the Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on November 17, 2008, in Europe and a day later elsewhere. It is the follow-up to their multi-platinum selling All the Right Reasons (2005). It was co-produced by the band and producer and songwriter Robert John "Mutt" Lange, known for working with such acts as Foreigner, AC/DC, Bryan Adams, Def Leppard and Shania Twain.

The White Knight is in a way a sequel and a prequel to The Dark Horse because it alternates between past and present. Honestly, I am usually not a huge fan of this timeframe hopping but it was done well and I really liked it. I guess the shortness of the story played in its favor since I'm not sure if I'd have appreciated the same approach if it had been a full length novel. I'm going to make it short but sweet
