Talk about Earth People - Dance

Talvinl
Is this really an extended edit of the Beats Version found on the Apexton release?
Modred
The disco loop was only a distraction to throw off the tourists. The Beats is where it's at.
Arryar
the "dance" vocals on this are taken from "Chic - Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowzah, Yowzah, Yowzah)"
Bludworm
The version of this I remember being played out a lot on the south coast in 1990 (Empire, Sterns, Central Park was the Beats Mix, this version has a kicking break beat and loses all the disco elements. The only complaint of this track is that its too short, no sooner is it on the deck than its ending, so pick out two tracks that go together when putting this in your set!
Monn
amazing release.dont sleep one this one.kerri chandler all time bomb repress https://www.discogs.com/de/EP2-Dance/release/11297801
Rishason
Back in 1990 I was just hanging around the offices of Renaldo the owner of this label and he told me Dance had sold over 90,000 copies Joey signed a copy for me and I still have it.. such a monster tune, later recorded 4 records for his labels great times,,,
Just_paw
Odd choice of album to repress considering how many of the originals are floating around.
Doomwarden
72 copies for sale at the moment in various condition, while there's 7500 wanting a copy. Not so strange after all I guess? Besides, Pal Joey might get some money from this reissue, so not when you think about it? Definitely a classic track though!
Yananoc
Sounds like Point G a wee bit no . . .?
Duktilar
probably he sampled it or tried something similar. Point G samples a lot of oldschool stuff, by the way.. that horn sample is vastly used in jacking house tracks.
Kearanny
Brilliant Chandler remix of a seminal tune. For those still looking for this, available currently on Champion Records online shop. For £4.99.
Arith
damn - not anymore. it sold out :( now the only hope is a repress
Dodo
An edited version of the Kerri Chandler Centro Fly Remix has just been released on Leads & Bites Vol. 2

Pal Joey is responsible for some class material, especially on his own 'Loop D' Loop' label- but this really is a godly moment. I'd put it down to the balance between soulful, trance like subtlety & a relentless, don't stop rolling arrangement. Either way, from Lil' Louis to Derrick May, nobody ignored this record. Only a classic sounds this good years down the line. Its aged better than me, anyhow ;)
Thiama
baj just listening to it again, and it's an amazing tune. the dance beats are great . See why Mills was attracted to it.
Ce
Sets the standard of Club House that is churting (in a good sense) and that went on from 1990-1995. Next quality track is 1992 "Blunted Dummies - House For All".
Alsanadar
B2 (Dance beats) at 1:42 is incorrect, it's around 4-5 minutes long
Lcena
meltdog: yes, though I think he could also have worked with Lenoir & Thompson's remix here: http://www.discogs.com/Tikkle-The-Sublime-Bubbles/release/44394

The Tikkle sample Mills also used originates with Rare Earth- 'Happy Song'. Very, very early house break as first cut by Walter Gibbons/Francoise K. The drums for 'Dance' (Beats) came from Debbie Malone- 'Rescue Me' from '89- which sampled the huge break from Lynn Collins- 'Think'.
Alianyau
a masterpiece of house music
Zugar
did jeff mills sample this track ? the beats mix, im sure ive heard this on a mills 12"

Disco loop track continues to be played in many DJ's from the past. "Hot Music" by Pal Joy masterpiece on a par with, and built up Art of Jack the beat of the classic Carl Bean / I Was Born This way. It is said that including the original standard and Timmy Regiford, "Dub", "Beats" but at the same specifications as the CD reissue of the Underworld was released in 1990 have been recorded. Less-known "Dub" is more than the original expansion, which is fitted to modern sounds. If one of the heirloom grade house/garage fans.
Malalanim
This track also includes a vocal sample of "Chic – Dance, Dance, Dance" (1977).
Dibei
Both versions are awesome pieces of house music. Those incredible tense beats that instantly grab anyone's attention on the dancefloor and the vibrant club version with a perfect use of a sample (Motown's classic, Carl Bean - I Was Born This Way), one of Pal Joey's trademark. When the tracks comes in a mix, the hook is immediate. The mood is obviously happy but also surrounded with a bit of nostalgia. The most memorable and effective house tracks are often the most simple ones. Thank you for your contribution mr Joseph Longo !
Manarius
The Kerri Chandler mix is very good. Great subtle FX and edits lift this track even higher than the original IMO. It basically edits the track into a more stretched version of the original. This is a good thing since the original was always a bit too short for me.
Burking
Uhm: the one called "Kerri Chandler Centro Fly Mix"
Asher
Which one is the Kerri Chandler mix?
Weernis
Most definitely one of the first "Disco Loop" house records. A favorite in underground clubs in cities such as Chicago, "Dance" was completely unique at the time. "Disco" was still a dirty word in 1990-1991. Dance songs were either piano driven House (CeCe Peniston's "Finally", Blackbox) or moving towards Rave and Techno (Joey Beltram's "Energy Flash"). A song that dared to sample a disco bass vamp was boldly referencing a time that was still thought of as embarrassing, and yet anticipating developments that House would make a good five years later. Abstract, yet compellingly danceable, "Dance" can be heard even today in the playlists of more discerning and knowledgeable DJs. "Classic" in every sense of the word.
