Italian symphonic power metal kings RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release their new album, "The Eighth Mountain", on February 22, 2019. The disc will be the band's first collection of brand new material to feature vocalist Giacomo Voli and drummer Manu Lotter, who joined RHAPSODY OF FIRE in 2016. As a result, The Eighth Mountain can be considered a new beginning for Rhapsody of Fire and as such, marks the start of a new saga of albums, entitled The Nephilim's Empire Saga. According to the great Christopher Lee’s narration at the end of the album, the saga tells the story of the Nephilim Empire which ruled the earth but, at some point, fell from grace.

The Eighth Mountain is an intentional return to classic Rhapsody material and this is the album’s strength. The band’s classic neo-baroque sound is clear throughout, with De Micheli’s guitar gymnastics evoking Malmsteen à la Turilli ( Clash of Times or Master of Peace ). Many songs kick off with strong, trem-picked guitar licks before giving way to rhythm guitar chugs.
