I read it and it was referring to this emperor who they referred to the pale emperor and I identified with it suddenly. He’s the topmost person that gives me things that I don’t really know why at the time but I know later

The Pale Emperor is the ninth studio album by Marilyn Manson. It was released on January 20, 2015 by Marilyn Manson's Hell, etc. vanity label. The Pale Emperor is the band's shortest-running studio album. Its title is a reference to the moniker bestowed on Constantius I, the 54th Emperor of the Roman Empire, by his people. The first description of the Pale Emperor sessions came in May 2013, when Manson compared a song written the night before to Prince, and others to Revolting Cocks.

Track 11-13 are listed as bonus tracks only on the sticker that was located on the outside of the wrap as 'Bonus Acoustic Tracks'.

Marilyn Manson hones his dark magic for his best, most twisted alt-rock party in years. On The Pale Emperor, Manson puts himself forward as a sort of trash-culture elder statesman, a freak of wealth and taste – the Mephistopheles of Los Angeles, as he dubs himself on one pounding track. It’s not always an easy sell, but this is the grabbiest music he’s made since 2000’s proggy Holy Wood. The album opens with Killing Strangers, a zombified blues crawl with a rusty-hinge riff: We got guns, you better run, he sings, dredging up memories of the days when right-wing scolds laughably blamed him for the Columbine massacre. Next up is the walloping Deep Six, a black-clad dance-club banger with Manson working out his Vincent Price baritone as he blathers about Zeus and Narcissus.

In 1996, Marilyn Manson would release their second full-length album, Antichrist Superstar, which would prove to be the band’s most celebrated work, as well as being an exceptional critical success. Along with these two albums, Mechanical Animals (1998) and Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death) (2000) would solidify Manson’s status as the most notorious Rock figure since Alice Cooper. The first song debuted from The Pale Emperor was Cupid Carries a Gun in April 2014 when it was featured on the American television drama Salem, which is explored in the lyrics. One of the first three singles released off the album, it gave fans a good idea of what to expect from the band three years after Born Villain.
