We loved their first album 'Blossoms', it was my favourite new album to come out over the past few years. Then having seen them on tour that love only grew. Now then with Cool Like You the band have evolved their song into more synth heavy but even poppier tunes.

Their forthcoming album Cool Like You, marks their return. On meeting Ogden, 24, and drummer Joe Donovan, 25, I find they are as down-to-earth as when I met them a couple of years ago, even if they look a bit smarter (Ogden with shorter hair and in cream trousers and Donovan wearing a checked jacket). The band were good friends with Blossoms and had supported them on their UK tour.

Cool Like You. Blossoms second album sees them return with 11 tracks of 80s inspired synth-layered pop bliss. Fundamentally we want to be a great pop band, says front man Tom Ogden. We’re influenced by the present as much as the past and we want to sound as modern as we can. We want to sound like a band who could only ever exist now, not then.

Cool Like You is the sophomore album from Manchester quintet Blossoms following their 2016 eponymous debut. Produced by James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, the album sees the band continue its mix of classic British indie rock - with nods to Oasis and the Stone Roses - and contemporary pop. The singles "There's a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)" and "I Can't Stand It" are included.
