The Hits Album 3 or Hits 3 is a compilation album released in the UK by Sony Music and WEA in November 1985. It followed up the extremely successful previous volumes Hits 1 and Hits 2. Although those albums both reached Hits 3 peaked at (held off by Now 6), despite a strong track-listing including a rare appearance of a Madonna track on a compilation album and a further 20 top ten hits. Hits 3 was a 28 track double-LP and cassette and selected tracks were also issued on VHS.

Against the official credits for track 1 "I Need To Feel Like A Child" Gianpaolo Viani states that the music of the song was composed only by himself and that the lyrics are written by Diana Jurca.

Track 2 "Parole Parole" is a cover version of Parole, Parole by Mina and Alberto Lupo.

Track 6 "Natural" is based on the third movement of The Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major ("Alla Turca"), composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The artist of track 3 and 15 "Stay" is miscredited as DJ Pandolfi.
After the release date Gigi D'Agostino stated in his official forum that the track artist for "Stay" is Dance'n'Roll.
