Ladytron - Light & Magic flac album

Light & Magic is the second studio album by English electronic music band Ladytron. It was released in the United States on 17 September 2002 by Emperor Norton and in the United Kingdom on 2 December 2002 by Telstar Records. The album was reissued by Nettwerk in January 2011. An earlier version of the song "NuHorizons" appeared as a B-side to the band's 2001 single "The Way That I Found You", under the title "Holiday 601"

Design for Polychrome. Packaging: Jewel case. Front insert: 8-page stapled booklet, color print exterior and on pages 4 to 5, black print on pages 2, 3, 6, and 7. Back insert: color print exterior and interior. Since I haven't heard all of 604, I will not compare the two. This particular album sounds warm and poppy, without being too repetitive (which is a gripe of people who don't like electronic music). It's all in nice fun with the dated electronic sound. For an example, in "Turn It On?," the track is liberally applied with what sounds like the 808 cowbell

The distant, bloodless Light & Magic is club-fodder for some Kubrickian half- or post-human future in which android scum mimic the moves of the mammals they were built to replace

Like Chicks on Speed and Adult. Ladytron helped shape the sound of electroclash before the style even had a name, and, in turn, this album feels influenced by the music that followed once the style formalized. Tracks such as "Turn It On," "Fire," and "Evil" are colder, more detached and dance-oriented than the rather naïve, bittersweet sound of 604, and feature digital-sounding synths instead of the analog warmth of Ladytron's previous work.
