One-X is the second studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. This is their first album recorded as a four-piece band, as Barry Stock joined the group and took over lead guitar from lead singer Adam Gontier. The album was released on June 13, 2006. They worked with producer Howard Benson for the album, a decision which proved to be a great move for the band, as the album was both a critical and financial success.
Three Days Grace has grown up both lyrically and instrumentally and that can be clearly heard in this album. The album One-X was written by Adam Gontier, the vocalist, while he was in rehab. In his lyrics he reflects his feelings during that rehab. This result in somewhat darker lyrics than what we heard in their previous self-titled album. Gontier also explored some other approaches on the vocals. He shouts more often in this album and in 'Riot' he goes even a bit further.
Produced by Howard Benson. In the title of the song and the album’s cover art, One X resembles a person who doesn’t fit in society or the crowd that he is in. It’s about feeling different or singled out feeling like you’re alone with no one understanding you or caring about you. Almost like you’ve been marked with an X (a bulls eye)

Thematically based around dealing with the disconnect felt while Three Days Grace were on the road in support of their 2003 album, the music remains catchy despite its lyrical darkness
In 2003, three days grace made their debut with the self titled album, which has scanned over . 5 million in the us to date and is certified platinum. The album spawned the us radio hits 'just like you' ( active and modern), 'i hate everything about you' ( active and alternative - played on active rock radio for an astonishing 50 weeks!) And 'home' ( active). On 'one x', the band explores sentiment with alarming honesty. I bought the digital version of this album ("One-X" by Three Days Grace) because I had originally really liked a couple of the songs from it,. but once I heard the other tracks, I decided to get the whole thing.
